About the cottage

At Llaethdy Rachel (Rachel’s Dairy) you can enjoy absolute peace and seclusion, with outstanding views over unspoilt Welsh hills. The cottage is a converted milking  parlour (completed in Aug. 2012) set in the heart of Rhydafallen, our twenty eight acre smallholding.  Designed, inside and out, with your comfort in mind the cottage has two en-suite bedrooms, underfloor heating throughout and for those cooler evenings or winter breaks you have the added comfort of the wood-burning stove as you relax on comfy reclining leather sofas.  On the south facing decking you can dine alfresco, or simply relax, in private, with just just the sounds of nature for company as you look out over the Aeron Valley.

Llaethdy Rachel is ideally placed for exploring Ceredigion, with Cardigan Bay, the Ceredigion Coast Path and the pretty harbour town of  Aberaeron just a fifteen minute drive away.  New Quay, Llangranog and Aberyswyth, each with their own characteristic charm, are also within easy reach.  For those who enjoy walking we are also close to the Cambrian Mountains and have a collection of walking guides and Ordnance Survey maps to help you discover hidden gems off the beaten track, as well as the breathtaking views along the coast path. There are two golf clubs within easy reach and for anglers, in addition to sea fishing, there are freshwater fisheries and rivers close by.

Accommodation…

The cottage sleeps four in two en-suite bedrooms, with your choice of super-king double or twin beds for both rooms (let us know your preference when booking). One en-suite is a bathroom, with an over bath shower and the the other is a shower room.  Each bedroom has a flat-screen Freeview television, with integral dvd/cd player.  Hair dryers are provided and a travel cot is available on  request. The living/dining room, has two comfy reclining leather sofas, a 43″ flat-screen Smart TV, a dvd/cd home cinema system, a round pine dining table with seating for four, a wood burning-stove (logs provided) and three windows give the room a light and airy feel, with delightful views across the countryside. From this room French windows open onto the large decking.  The separate kitchen, set directly off the living room, through an archway, is fully equipped for self catering, having a dishwasher, cooker, fridge, separate freezer, microwave, etc. The laundry/luggage storage room, situated off the hallway, is equipped with an automatic washing machine and a tumble dryer.

Outside the cottage…

The south facing raised decking has a six seater dining set and is easily accessed directly from both the living room and, through the porch, from the kitchen.  From here you can enjoy extensive views across the valley.  Below the decking there is a lawn which extends into the large mown area beyond (see decking photo) where children can play safely (ΒΌ mile from lane) and dogs can be let off the lead.  The whole area, including the cottage, is contained within its own secure perimeter fence.
